WASHINGTON (Reuters)-U.S. Department of Interior on Tuesday said it wished to make a decision on the location of transmission line off the coast that is supported by Google in the next few months, promised that the project would not face the bureaucratic delays that plagued the renewable energy project offshore before.
Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said offshore project support company in the past often did not know whether they will receive the right to develop their proposals.
Google and its partners plan to build the Atlantic winds, transmission system, a connection can carry up to 7,000 megawatts of electricity from the wind off the Atlantic coast.
